SUBJECT: Report on Unusual Aerial Phenomena observed over XXXXXXXX on 14 March 1962.

1. At approximately 0247 hours local time, radar operators at XXXXXXXXX detected an unidentified target moving at an estimated speed of XXXX knots on a heading of 270 degrees.

2. Visual confirmation was obtained by XXXXXXXX personnel who described the object as luminous, approximately XX feet in diameter, hovering at an altitude of XXXXX feet before accelerating beyond tracking capability.

3. No conventional aircraft were scheduled in the area at the time of observation. Request further investigation by XXXXXXXXX.
